Growing up in a rural area, I had never heard of the field of Landscape Architecture. I loved anything to do with colors, sculpture and nature. I was encouraged to pursue all forms of Art and I majored in Graphic Design. While listening to a lecturer, I was introduced to Landscape Architecture.
During the lecture, I remembered reading Willa Cather’s words: “When I strike the open plains, something happens. I’m home. I breathe differently. That love of great spaces, of rolling open country like the sea—it’s the great passion of my life.”

Laurie Batha, a lead Project Manager and Senior Associate for Golden Associates since 2000, brings 25 years of landscape architectural experience, as well as a diverse knowledge of landscape and graphic design, construction documents, irrigation, and construction administration.
Ms. Batha’s project experience includes urban design projects, resorts, commercial and industrial facilities, public and private multi-family housing, planned communities, institutional facilities, private cemetery renovations, parks, recreation, and wetland habitat restoration in the Bay Area and abroad.
Ms. Batha is an active member of the National Resources Defense Council and was accepted into the 2004-2005 Class of the Leadership Contra Costa Program.
