Collaborating with the Architects on the new corporate headquarters and creative research laboratory for Jamba Juice, Golden Associates retrofitted an existing office building courtyard to create a space exemplifying the values of the company. Edible plants and ornamental grasses were incorporated into the design, providing visual inspiration and fresh produce to the research team.


The courtyard is both the main entrance and the lunch-hour retreat for employees. The plant palette utilized drought-tolerant grasses moving in the wind, fragrant plants, and a variety of complimentary colors and textures to best delight the senses.

The custom perforated metal screen (allowed to patina with age) conceals the mechanical area while providing an interesting contrast to the glass and brick building.
