MISSION BAY

Collaborating with several architects on a paseo in the Mission Bay Development, Golden Associates prepared the conceptual design for the site plan between four proposed new buildings.
Golden Associates provided seating areas, site circulation, bio-swales, site furnishings, planting, pedestrian lighting and a decomposed granite jogging path to conform to the existing system.

A major challenge was reducing the wind tunnel effect, which can create a less than comfortable outdoor experience. Our solution was to alternate the allee of trees to diffusing the wind and to providing protective, decorative wind screens at individual seating areas.
The site materials were inspired by the existing adjacent projects (as shown in the photographs) and complied appropriately to the goals of the Master Plan.
