Funded by MTC and the City of Oakland, the goals of this project were to improve pedestrian safety, and enhance the identity defined by the Community.

The Dimond District wanted to express an environmental theme which highlighted the local Sausal Creek. The mural shown on the right is designed to be painted in segments on the freeway columns under the I - 580 Freeway.

The custom metal panel is designed to screen the parking areas and provide another opportunity to reference to the Sausal Creek. A kiosk, interpretive signage and bike rack are provided in the same environmental theme.
