PRIVATE RESIDENCE LAFAYETTE, CA

Replacing over 1,400 square-feet of existing lawn with permeable flagstone pavers, drought-tolerant native plants, and several layers of sheet mulch, this is an example of a sustainable development. The soil was thoroughly amended, and layers of newspaper sheet mulch, in addition to the bark mulch, eliminated the weeds.

Water bills have been reduced by 60 - 82% and produced a savings of $550 over a two-month period.

RECYCLE & REUSE

All stone chips were blended with decomposed granite to create a path. An existing diseased Pine tree was cut down and reused to provide informal seating and bark mulch.

The stone water feature provides water to wildlife. Leaf litter is composted on site and used to amend the soil.
