Defining the entry to the Laurel Commercial District was the primary goal in the development of the Gateway Feature shown.

Golden Associates was responsible for designing three entry alternatives and presenting them to the Community for their selection.

The result of that meeting was the further development of the above Entry Statement Columns, which reflect the predominately Arts and Crafts style of architecture in the neighborhood. The metal arch contains a laurel leaf motif, which references to the District’s name.
