LION CREEK RESTORATION

Working with the City of Oakland and the County of Alameda, Golden Associates provided the planting and irrigation plans for the Lion Creek Enhancement Project.
The goal of this environmentally-sensitive project is provide an open creek overflow for the once completely engineered, concrete-walled channel.
This newly restored creek will be open to both tidal and upland freshwater flow. The plant have been carefully selected from regionally native plant material to provide a riparian habitat for nesting and foraging.
Interpretive educational signage has been designed to increase the public'sâ €™ awareness of the ecosystem and the project's purpose.
Sustainable features included a green roof, best management practices, and the specifications of recycled concrete retaining wall.
