Defining the entry of the Laurel Commercial District and creating a memorable sense of place was the primary goal in achieving economic revitalization for this neighborhood.

The columns are inspired by the Arts-and-Crafts residential architecture in the neighborhood; the metal arch contains a laurel leaf motif, referring to the District’s name. The arch has been designed to hold seasonal banners for Special Community Events.
